8. Professional Dash Camera Installation
CALLECAMS provides professional dash camera installation services and will carry out installations with reasonable care and attention appropriate to the vehicle and equipment being installed.
Before carrying out an installation, CALLECAMS will, where reasonably possible, take into consideration the customer’s individual requirements, preferences and intended use of the dash camera system. CALLECAMS will provide advice and recommendations regarding the installation method, equipment and configuration where appropriate. Where relevant, CALLECAMS may also advise the customer of potential risks that an installation may have in relation to the vehicle manufacturer’s warranty, electrical systems or other vehicle components. Any advice provided is based on the information reasonably available to CALLECAMS at the time and cannot constitute a guarantee of the position taken by any vehicle manufacturer, dealer, warranty provider or third party.
Vehicle Manufacturer Warranty
The customer acknowledges that CALLECAMS is not the vehicle manufacturer, dealer or provider of the vehicle manufacturer’s warranty. CALLECAMS cannot guarantee that the installation of a dash camera system, hardwire kit or associated equipment will have no effect on any vehicle warranty or manufacturer warranty conditions.
The customer is responsible for checking with the vehicle manufacturer, authorised dealer or warranty provider where the customer has concerns regarding the effect of a dash camera installation on the vehicle warranty. CALLECAMS will provide reasonable information regarding the proposed installation method where possible, but cannot guarantee the decision or interpretation of any manufacturer, dealer or warranty provider.
Customer-Supplied Equipment
Where the customer supplies their own dash camera, hardwire kit, cables, accessories or other equipment for installation, CALLECAMS cannot be held responsible for defects, incompatibility, malfunction, failure, damage or other problems arising from the equipment itself, its design, manufacturing defect, condition, specification or compatibility with the vehicle.
Where CALLECAMS identifies, or reasonably believes, that customer-supplied equipment may be unsuitable, defective or incompatible, CALLECAMS may advise the customer accordingly and, where appropriate, decline to install the equipment.
Any manufacturer’s warranty relating to a dash camera, hardwire kit, cable, accessory or other equipment supplied by the customer remains the responsibility of the relevant manufacturer, supplier or seller. CALLECAMS does not provide or assume any manufacturer’s warranty in respect of equipment supplied by the customer.
Vehicle Wiring and Electrical Systems
CALLECAMS will not normally cut, splice, alter, modify or otherwise interfere with the original wiring of a vehicle.
Where reasonably possible, installations will be carried out using appropriate connection methods and without making permanent alterations to the vehicle’s original wiring.
In exceptional circumstances, a particular installation may require a connection or modification to vehicle wiring or another part of the vehicle’s electrical system. Where CALLECAMS considers that such work is necessary or appropriate, the customer will be informed of the proposed work and the potential risks before the work is undertaken.
Where such work involves a modification to the vehicle’s original wiring, CALLECAMS may require the customer to provide written confirmation, waiver or disclaimer acknowledging that the customer has been informed of the potential risks and has authorised the work to proceed.
The customer’s acknowledgement or authorisation does not remove or exclude any liability that CALLECAMS cannot lawfully exclude under applicable law. However, subject to applicable law, CALLECAMS shall not be responsible for faults, failures, damage or other problems arising from the vehicle’s pre-existing condition, pre-existing wiring faults, electrical faults, vehicle modifications, manufacturer-specific electrical systems, or subsequent alterations or modifications to the installation by the customer or any third party.
Post-Installation Modifications
Once an installation has been completed and the vehicle has been returned to the customer, CALLECAMS cannot be responsible for faults, failures, damage, malfunction or other problems caused by or arising from any subsequent alteration, modification, disconnection, reconnection, repair or interference with the dash camera system, its wiring, hardwire kit or associated equipment by the customer or any third party.
This includes, but is not limited to, wiring being moved, disconnected, cut, spliced, altered or reconnected; equipment being replaced or added; changes to vehicle electrical systems; work carried out by another installer, garage, dealer or technician; or any other modification made after CALLECAMS has completed the installation.
Vehicle-Specific Risks
Vehicle electrical systems and vehicle manufacturers’ installation requirements can vary considerably between makes, models, model years and individual vehicles. Modern vehicles may contain complex electronic control systems, sensors, communication networks and other electronic components.
Although CALLECAMS will use reasonable care and appropriate installation practices, CALLECAMS cannot guarantee that an installation will be entirely free from risks associated with a particular vehicle, its existing condition, its electrical system or its manufacturer’s design.
The customer should inform CALLECAMS before installation of any known electrical faults, previous modifications, aftermarket equipment, previous repairs or other circumstances that may affect the installation.
Nothing in this Clause 8 is intended to exclude or restrict any statutory rights or legal protections that apply to the customer under applicable law.
9. Dash Camera Recordings
CALLECAMS installs dash camera systems but does not control how customers subsequently operate their equipment or use recordings.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that their use of dash cameras and recordings complies with applicable laws relating to privacy, data protection, recording, storage and disclosure.
CALLECAMS is not responsible for recordings made or subsequently used by customers after installation.
10. Third-Party Websites and Services
The CALLECAMS website may contain links to third-party websites, services or platforms.
These links are provided for convenience or functionality.
CALLECAMS does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, privacy practices or terms.
